Jason Jones was very helpful in planning our house. He said our house would be done in 4 months and it was. He took care of the permitting process. He was very accommodating with any changes that came along. In October 2014 I hired Jason Jones of Preferred Builders of Watertown to add a 4 season room to my home. I had interviewed 4 possible contractors & chose Jason. He gave me a detailed description of how the addition would look, what it all entailed plus cost. The project consisted of taking out a picture window & make it the doorway for my new room 13.5 ft x 16.5 ft. I had a patio removed & a 4 foot crawl space added on to put this room on top of. Jason, & the men he worked with, were always professional & respectful to me & my family plus very personable. They wanted the job done right to my satisfaction. I was kept informed as to the timeline of the work which I appreciated. There was added cost to a couple of things I changed. After each work day, my place was cleaned up as much as possible. I had a smaller window removed & wasn’t sure how I wanted that opening handled. Jason suggested glass shelves & it looks very nice. He gave me ideas for the heating of the area that would be most efficient & make the room comfortable in all seasons. I wanted a room with as many windows as possible & he gave it to me!!!

The project was completed just before Christmas which worked out great for my family gathering. I thought it would be done sooner BUT that was my misunderstanding on the verbiage of the contract.

Jason’s crew, plus the people who dug out the old patio, the people who built the crawl space, electricians, the man who finished the wooden floor, the HVAC people all were very nice & caring. When I had questions, they were always answered with patience & completely.

I have worked with Preferred Builders on a few different houses. The workmanship is top-notch, budgets were maintained as expected and the final product exceeded expectations. Jason continually kept the line of communication open as changes came up or modifications were made to the original plan. He was very detail orientated and took the time to figure out what the homeowners needed to achieve their dream residence.

Preferred Buildings has completed three major projects for us: replacement of our interior doors, a front porch, and a yard shed. All three have been completed with high-quality materials and workmanship. The first project involved swapping out our home’s original hollow-core doors for six-panel oak doors. We opted for the prefinished doors to save money, but if I had to do it over again, I would have had Jason and his crew stain them since they probably would have matched our existing trim better. The following year, we had a front porch added, which really dressed up our house’s curb appeal. The porch is made of composite, and also involved pouring a new sidewalk to our front door. The difference is amazing. Just this past fall, Preferred Builders completed a third project for us. They constructed a 14×14 stick-built shed, with built-in shelving, an overhead door, and side door. Due to our subdivision covenants it had to match our home as closely as possible, and Jason did a great job of working in those parameters. Due to his professionalism and good work, we plan to call him again for any future needs.
